annegeluna's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- bliss What a beautiful weekend! Friday evening Bryan and I opened a small silk box containing our handmade rings. We read the note Laurel wrote to us and then put the rings on while sharing our thoughts and feelings about our relationship and the rings, what both mean to us and our dreams for the future. We then called Laurel to tell her the rings were perfect - unique, intricate, strong, light, smooth and utterly amazing. Carm and Cliff came down for a visit and we spent yesterday driving through the wine country. We visited V. Sattui winery (Catie had written about the winery and I was intruiged - great place - thanks Catie!) and the Napa Valley Olive Oil Manufacturing Company (a tiny little Italian deli/store/olive oil company) and then came back to Alameda for a nice dinner at Pappo. This morning we woke up to fog which cleared just in time for a late morning breakfast outside on the patio (dutch pancake with kiwi and fresh lemon) and watching Madgi climb the tree before Carm and Cliff headed home. It was so nice to spend time with them. I just finished working on a project describing my position as Volunteer Coordinator and will take the early ferry in tomorrow morning to finish the project and submit it to the firm. And now we will go make our crab ravioli with pancetta, a simple green salad and sourdough bread for a delicious dinner. I think dinner prep will involve a martini - I bought some delicious green olives at the deli.
